Happenings in the last 24 Hours

Let's start from the beginning.....

Once upon a time, a man came back in anticipation of a friday night of movies, internet surfing, satay and maybe a beer or two. After powering up his trusty P4, to his dismay the notification stating "no network detected" poped up. As he reached for the paperbag just as he was about to hyperventilate, he checked the connections over and over again. All seems to be in order. Last resort.....give STARRFUC a call. The reply, "Sorry we are experiencing some technical problems" ......Enough of the story ...... I'm getting pissed jsut thinking about it

Well that technical problem lasted 20 hours and after about 8 calls to STARRFUC they finally manage to get things running again.

Sure ...this is a small matter, but the frustrating thing is why can't they give me a update when they say they will. To those who know me, I can't live without my internet even for a day.... so go figure.....

On another note, my old friend from secondary school shifted in as he just sold his flat and needed a place to crush untill his new place is renovated and done. Hahahaha.... its going to be fun.

Today seems to be crawling, I mean I did heaps of things at work today but why is it that I feel that the whole day is just moving at a snail's pace........................ Anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

I am just going to end the day clearing up my desk and organising my stuff a little better.

Wet monday...My favourite......NOT!

We awoke this morning to a wet and gloomy welcome..... the rain was pissing down and we were both under our comforter contemplating if we were going to make it for work today.

It must have been really cold cos none of us could think of a excuse to give for not turning up for work...

Now at work, i'm catching a breather waiting for this person to return my call, so i thought I'll clear out the photos from my Mobile..... check it out.... Can you guess who is that?

Dinner @ Botak Jones

We went to this place in Ang Mo Kio known as Botak Jones with the traffic gals (Past and present). Food was amazingly great. Its great seeing Ka Mun & Pei Shan again after they left us a couple of months back.

Had a great dinner and adjourned to KBox for some singing....hhaaha

CAJUN CHICKEN PLATE
If you think chicken breast is tough and dry well, YOU ARE WRONG! When grilled carefully, they are very moist and tender. I guess that’s why people order this item over and over again. If one skinless marinated char-grilled breast laden with melted mozzarella cheese and our own Cajun sauce isn’t enough, order the large then! RegularS$6.50 Large $12.00

FISH & CHIPS
Firm and tender Pacific Dory, lightly seasoned and then breaded with Japanese bread crumbs. Fried in 100% corn oil and served on a small mountain of fries. RegularS$5.50

SWANKY FRANKY
There’s a good story about this, but I’ll spare you this time. This is tasty, a GIANT beef hot dog is grilled wrapped in bacon and then cheddar cheese is melted on top. Available only as a set meal. S$9.00

HOT N’ SPICY PORK BRATWURST
These are from Wisconsin, USA. A bit spicy but bursting with flavor. Or so we’re told. Without the bun $4.50 Wth the bun only $5.50 Set Meal $6.50.

CHICKEN GUMBO
GUMBO means soup in Cajun French, a derivative of French that is spoken in South Louisiana, USA. This is a very hearty soup made with chicken, smoked turkey sausage, Cajun vegetables, herbs and spices. It comes served over rice the traditional way. Although it is a bit spicy, it is great on a wet cool day, really warms you up. LG S$6.50

WHOOPASS CHEESE FRIES
Ok, so we screwed up on the snack and made it a meal. BE HUNGRY, BE VERY HUNGRY. This… is a MONSTER. S$8.50

CAESAR SALAD
Crispy US Romaine lettuce is introduced to quartered tomatoes, croutons, turkey bacon bits, parmesan Cheese and of course, our own Caesar dressing. S$4.50

Lunch @ Marriott Hotel 19 Sept 2006

Tuesday, 19 Sept 2006 was a feast for the Traffic people. We were treated to the buffet @ Mariott Hotel much thanks to our boss and dear friend; Chia Teong Wee. It was the usual quarterly gathering and to say goodbye to one of our fellow coolie, someone better known to us as CQ.

OK, after reading my wifey’s blog and announcing to the whole world that I dislike birthdays…..i decided to pen my own thoughts on the matter. Well you see, its not that I dislike Bdays in itself….I love celebrating for others. I just as debbs said it dislike the attention, the cake and all the trouble that I have to put people through to organize the entire episode. I am however, extremely appreciative for all the family and friends that have been with me in my journey in this unforgiving and sometime twisted world.

I would like to dedicated today’s post to my wife, who has gone to all the trouble to get me my surprise present, that happens to be a lovely green “Crumpler” and a body hugging Nike tshirt. She was probably blinded with love to figure that I could fit into it :P. Anyway I love you for that…. Debbs and thanks for taking the time and trouble again.

The best present you could have given me was marrying me and that in itself would over shadow any gift that I would ever want.

So…. The last posting of mine was on the 29 May 06. Wah… how time flies. In between then and now, I got married ( you can read all about it in my wife's blog...that is if i can get the damn link to work) , went to Hong Kong for the Honeymoon (wouldn’t wanna go into details on that one) and just yesterday got my Class 2A License.

For the benefit of those who are not aware, Singapore traffic law segregate Motorcycle Lic into 3 classes. Mainly.

Class 2B – To operate Motorcycle with a capacity (cc) not exceeding 200.
Class 2A – To operate Motorcycle with a capacity (cc) not exceeding 400.
Class 2 – To operate Motorcycle with a capacity (cc) in excess of 400.

Well, if you had read my previous post, you’ll know that I haven’t had much luck with it. Took me 4 tries and much frustration before finally getting my class 2A License.

Just glad that I finally got it. (And the timing couldn’t be any better :P)
